This radio documentary about amateur radio in the UK was first aired in 1993 or 1994. Despite a brief search I couldn’t find it anywhere online so decided to digitise it from my original cassette tape recording – which explains the poor quality. Yes, it’s patronising and surprise, surprise, it focuses on some of the poorer aspects of amateur radio. However, nearly 20 years on it provides a snapshot of how things were and it also goes to show that somethings haven’t really changed all that much.
Some older listeners will, I’m sure, recognise a few of the callsigns, including G3RFX right at the end of part 3. I dare say some are also long SK.
