I have been messing around with the DVB-T SDR thing again, this time to download and decode ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) signals. All aircraft transponders transmit data on 1090 MHz. The antenna used is a discone in the loft. The receive antenna should be mounted at a high position with an undisturbed view in all directions and direct line of view of any aircraft.
