W4RT One BIG Punch

I been looking at one of these for a while, well a couple of years. I have just purchased a W4RT One Big Punch and installed it into one of my Yaesu MH-31 microphones (I have two of those). John G1DJI is kindly going to make a label for me, so I don’t get the two mixed up.

The board and kit, plus one MH-31 Microphone.

Inside the microphone, they tell you to remove, just the white wire. I removed both to make life easier, less chance of damaging the brown one.

Removed, one capacitor and wire, then moved the centre wire over to the right.

Then I soldered the brown/white onto the left and blue wire onto the right.(below)

In the photo below, you will see the board seated on the left. Power is taken from the 5V, which is the second from the left at the bottom (red wire, has 4 beads attached), the brown wire is reattached to the mic board and the white wire ( with 2 beads) is attached to the OBP board.

Job done, I will test later.

Coming soon. On air test results and findings.
