The Tytera TYT MD-380 has helped with prices from \u00a3105 to \u00a3150 for a TDMA 1W\/5W UHF transceiver. \u00a0a review of the MD-380 by Dave M0TAZ (<a title=\"here\" href=\"http:\/\/m0taz.co.uk\/2015\/09\/dmr-radio-tyt-md-380-first-impressions\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>) on his blog has whetted my appetite. \u00a0 Note that the same radio can be branded as\u00a0<strong>Retevis RT3<\/strong> and is otherwise identical<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With a DMR-MARC repeater now on the air from Barking, GB7AK, \u00a0I expect to recognise some familiar callsigns. Other LEFARS members have ordered their radios and eagerly awaiting their delivery.<\/p>\n<p>There is a steep learning curve to understand how to use a DMR radio. To help my own understanding, I have compiled a list of resources into one document which can be viewed here.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lefars.org.uk\/WPblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/TYT-MD-380-documentation.pdf\">TYT MD-380 documentation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also Keith G1HEQ has kindly made available a &#8220;LEFARS&#8221; code plug which contains the most useful local 70cm DMR repeaters, other DMR simplex channels and FM repeaters.
