Bedsford park is the highest point around at the dizzy height of 100m ASL. I decided to take the 12m roach pole and Icom 7100 and the slim jim.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The portable trolly, battery and antenna.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/m0taz.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/21357384560_a979147db4_k.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-640 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/m0taz.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/21357384560_a979147db4_k-375x500.jpg\" alt=\"21357384560_a979147db4_k\" width=\"285\" height=\"380\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After setting up the radio, powered by a 90Ah leisure battery my first visitor was the local parks patrol. They have recently been kitted out with a look alike \u201cemergency\u201d response vehicle, complete with blue lights and checkerboard markings. We had the usual chat that started along the lines of \u201cHave you asked permission\u201d \u2026 (oh this isnt going so well.) I didn\u2019t quite work out why I need to ask permission to sit in the park with a fishing pole and Icom radio, it seemed like the local dog walkers with their poop machines or the kids throwing sticks into the conker tree was just fine but thats another story.\u00a0He was quite amicable once I told him I was a licensed amateur radio operator, either that or he was just confused by the term.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sitting on the park bench<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/m0taz.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/21357600008_0e239187d3_k.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-642 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/m0taz.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/21357600008_0e239187d3_k-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"21357600008_0e239187d3_k\" width=\"361\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a>Anyhow, after the passing of the parks\u00a0<del>police<\/del>\u00a0enforcement team. I got down to some operating, calling CQ on 70.450.
